Know the story behind the car.
Before committing to your next vehicle, look beyond its appearance. Review available history, MOT mileage and relevant checks to make a more informed buying decision.
Checks for the vehicle you're considering.
Explore different vehicle types. Available report coverage depends on the vehicle, records available and the connected data provider.
Vehicle category links help visitors navigate the lookup journey. A category selection does not itself perform a vehicle check or confirm data availability.
Understand the history, not just the specification.
Different records answer different questions. A useful report explains which checks were completed, what they found and where information was unavailable.
MOT history
Review available test dates, pass or fail outcomes, advisories and recorded defects.
Mileage records
Compare readings recorded at different test dates and identify inconsistencies that may need investigation.
Outstanding finance
Where supplied by an authorised provider, check for recorded finance agreements linked to the vehicle.
Insurance write-off
Review available write-off records and category information when the chosen data source supports them.
Stolen vehicle records
Check available stolen-vehicle records through an appropriate authorised data source.
Vehicle identity
Compare available make, model, fuel, engine and other identification details.
Import and export
Review recorded import or export information when it is available from the provider.
Registration changes
Investigate available registration, colour or keeper-history indicators where supported.
Recalls and safety
Review relevant recall information where available, alongside independent checks and inspections.

A vehicle's appearance tells only part of the story.
A clean exterior and a convincing description cannot confirm every detail of a vehicle's past. Historical records can help you ask informed questions before committing to a purchase.
Use a report as one part of your decision-making process, alongside a physical inspection, test drive, seller documentation and any professional advice you need.

Use the information as a starting point for further checks, not as a guarantee that a vehicle has no issues.
- Compare recorded mileage with the vehicle and its paperwork.
- Ask the seller to explain inconsistencies or missing documents.
- Verify finance and write-off information through suitable sources.
- Check the VIN and vehicle identity against the car and documents.
- Arrange an independent inspection where appropriate.
Know the limits of vehicle history data.
Reliable reporting means being clear about the source, scope and limits of the information presented.
Records may be incomplete
Not every accident, repair, ownership event or other incident is necessarily recorded in a database.
Checks use different sources
MOT, finance, theft and write-off information can come from different providers and have different coverage.
Results are time-sensitive
A result reflects the records returned at the time of the check. It is not a guarantee of a vehicle's future status.
Questions before you order.
Understand what a vehicle report can tell you, how the order process works and what to expect from the results.
What is a vehicle history report?
A vehicle history report brings together available records about a vehicle. Depending on the provider and package, these may include MOT history, recorded mileage, specifications, finance, theft and insurance write-off checks.
Does an MOT pass mean a vehicle is mechanically perfect?
No. An MOT records the outcome of a test against applicable requirements at that time. It does not guarantee the vehicle's current condition or predict future faults.
Does MOT history include finance and theft checks?
Not by itself. These checks generally require separate data sources and should only be included where the report provider supports them.
Can I check a vehicle using its VIN?
The VIN option on this website allows you to submit a VIN to the lookup journey. Whether a particular report can be produced from the VIN depends on the connected data provider and its coverage.
When will I receive my report?
The delivery time should be shown in the package information and at checkout. Where a report is fulfilled manually, the stated timeframe begins according to the published order terms and successful payment.
What if a check is unavailable?
The report should identify a check as unavailable or not returned. An unavailable result must not be interpreted as a clear result.
Can a report guarantee that a vehicle is safe to buy?
No. Data can be incomplete or out of date. Consider an independent inspection, a test drive and verification of the vehicle's documents before buying.
What happens after payment?
Your order should be recorded with its selected package and vehicle identifier. The report is then fulfilled and delivered according to the published service terms.
